Thanks again to everyone for being patient while the website was under construction.  The website will always take on upgrades as necessary.  Enough of website construction, let's move on to some beer pong news.  There is A LOT of news that has happened in the past month that most people don't know about.  If you haven't heard yet, we have finally brought a beer pong league to the Cedar Valley area!  Waverly is now the new home for the Cedar Valley to play Beer Pong.  This isn't just any league...the league winner will recieve a trip to Las Vegas as well as entry into the World Series of Beer Pong VIII.  For anyone who hasn't been to the World Series let me tell you, it is one of the most amazing experiences EVER!  Check out the "Leagues" page or click the link I have provided below for more info on how to sign up for the Waverly Beer Pong League.  The most important thing to remeber is that all teams must be pay/sign-up by September 7, 2012!!!  The League begins Tuesday, September 11, 2012.

In other news, this past weekend was the Milwaukee WSOBP VIII Satellite.  It was the largest satellite this year in the northern midwest.  Casey Conover and Ryan Brown made the trip to compete.  Unfortunately the two players had a poor showing and ended up being eliminated early.  Despite poor play, it was one of the best satellites this year.  Thanks again to Dustin Zahn for putting on one hell of a satty!

And Finally, the Best of the Midwest has finally passed.  The state of Iowa had trouble filling a roster this year and had to disband the team.  Ryan Brown, Michael Jesiolowski, and Jason Dye were the only 3 players from the Iowa team to attend the BOMW.  The Minnesota state team was quick to pick up all three players to round out a very solid Minnesota roster.  Minnesota had a tough prelims facing all three Missouri teams, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.  After prelims Minnesota qualified for the bracket and ended up in the losers bracket after round one.  With their backs against the wall, Minnesota got hot!  They ended up making it to the championship game facing two time defending champions Missouri's #1.  Although Minnesota lost 2-3 and came up just short of a major victory, the team had to beat some dominant states in the bracket such as Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois.  Minnesota went on to take 2nd place, a nice paycheck, and some serious bragging rights.  Congratulations team Minnesota as well as Ryan Brown, Michael Jesiolowski, and Jason Dye!  You guys made one hell of a run and shocked the world!

We are officially one week away from the Iowa WSOBP Satellite #1.   We hope to have a great turnout and some intense games.  As a refresher I have the link to the tournament info below.  It would be awesome if you already know your teams to go ahead and post it on the facebook page.  We are trying to get a good head count ahead of time.  A reminder that this is a double buy-in.  For those of you who don't know what that is, it means you can be on 2 different teams.  In other news, we have pushed the Team Iowa final roster due date to the 30th of July. So your last opportunity for us too see you play is at the Iowa Satty. Have a great rest of the weekend!

Team Iowa scouting night #2 went very well. Got to see some new talent as well as some current talent step up their game.  Scout night #3 is this saturday and is the final scout night.  The only update I can give you on team iowa is this...it is likely we only have about two spots available. So for those that are still interested in the few remaining spots but have yet been scouted, you MUST make it this saturday. After that there will be no more opportunities.  Another reminder that there is an Iowa Satellite on July 28th @ The Library in Cedar Falls, IA.  It has been tough to find a venue in Iowa, but we have found one.  It is a smaller venue, but should help us open new doors and opportunities.  Shoutout to Jeff Lantz, your the man. Thanks buddy!

Happy Fourth of July!!! I figured the best way to kick off the fourth would be to announce the first Iowa satellite tournament in....well....a long time.  July 28th in Cedar Falls, IA will be host to this amazing event.  But before I dive into that too much, it is important to remind everyone that this saturday is another scouting night for Team Iowa.  July 15th is going to be the day we release the final roster, so don't miss out on your chance!  With that being said, below are two very important links.  Everyone has been bitching about Iowa not having a satellite, well it's here and fast approaching.  So get your pong buddies ready and start practicing!

Today is the day to start scouting for the Best of the Midwest Iowa team.  Don't worry if you can't make it untill a little later.  And don't worry if you can't make it at all.  They're still two more opportunities after today.  Hope to see some newfaces tonight at the pong house! On a side note, we have been working very hard to bring a WSOBP Satellite tournament to Iowa this past month or so, well let's just say that we are very close.  It is just a matter of ironing out the details. More too come.
